Masterpiece
Plan 9 from Outer Space
The story
Extraterrestrials attempt to influence humanity through the dead.
Critical appreciation
Ed Wood's interplanetary masterpiece challenges the tyranny of continuity, scientific accuracy, and conventional set construction. Its flying saucers achieve a level of visual purity that modern computer-generated imagery can only dream of replicating.
